Make no mistake: these MAGA chuds see themselves as revolutionaries at the Boston Tea Party, but they’re more akin to the mobs of the third reich whipped into a frenzy by their führer. They are monkeys baring their teeth and throwing their feces.
And the police should be dealing with them with the same force used on peaceful BLM protesters...and peaceful Native American pipeline protestors...and peaceful Occupy Wall Street protestors... but hmm I wonder why they’re white. Oops. I mean, I wonder why they’re not.
But all their chest thumping and shit slinging changes nothing. Biden will be sworn in on schedule.

beside me on the
sofa. the room is
sweltering, thick
like an ocean made
of air. a sea our
eyes can’t

makes me feel like i
am breathing underwater,
like i'm suspended in
a world where hard hits
close in on me in gentle
waves, like i’m constantly
tumbling but i'll wash
up somewhere, eventually.
i do know. i don’t know
it yet, but this time
i'm landing with two feet
when the tide comes in.

Not everyone gets to meet their idols. by Exillior, journal
Not everyone gets to meet their idols.
I am very lucky because in my short, precarious lifetime, I have met two of mine. And to start with... the number of famous people I would like to meet is tiny already. (I think the only one left now is Yuzuru Hanyu to be honest.) Also... I come from nowhere. From a tiny island in the middle of the Indian Ocean.
Yesterday I got to see Federico Mecozzi play his own music for the start of his European tour for his debut album Awakening. I've been seeing him play as one of the violinists with Ludovico Einaudi since 2013, so it's quite something to see him release his own music and play it, after years of seeing him play someone else's music ama

the thing most golden
I didn’t have the golden hair
of those who chose
and were chosen
to be angels in the school plays.
Whilst I waited
with sore fingers crossed
they knew
just like Goldilocks
that they could have what they picked.
And I with my safety pin,
was always picking locks.
Back in my mother’s country
for the summer holidays,
where a glass teacup was always
warming the crook of my thumb,
I unlocked the padlock
on a keepsake box,
and held in the hollow of a damp palm
an odd memento,
glowing,
as if haloed.
It was the golden tooth
of my great-aunt Fatima,
who once wrote with a licked-pen
a healing prayer
on the swollen melon-size glands

a tree seems
too impossibly slow of a machine
for something that lives the way we do
to even notice
something like us
that lives loudly and looks only
through the tiniest, most immediate
windows of time
but, to a tree
we move like death moves,
in a nearly invisible
and consuming gaseous blur
we are its insects
our tiny eye-windows rippling
in the same near-liquid state and frequency
of our wings and want
yet, as time peppers our outside,
its words and pictures accumulate
in layers of exoskeleton;
chitin that wears into bark
my children have already begun to move
like death moves,
faster than my knotted eyes can track;

How to deal with unwanted contact on DA
Community Engagement Week
As part of Community Engagement Week I'm here to discuss how to deal with unwanted contact on DA.
It's unfortunate but true, trolls and bullies do happen on DA, just as they do any other part of the internet as well. As nice as it would be if we could magically make them disappear from the site, there are other things we can do to help prevent or minimize unwanted contact with these types of people. Today I hope to share some tips and options that may help you have a more peaceful DA experience, hopefully free or mostly free of unwanted contact.
What should you do if you receive comments or notes from a user yo

Turning Points
Throughout the history of every culture there have been turning points, divergences where one action leads to a domino effect of others, or what once taken, other actions are no longer an option. Sometimes these turning points are obvious ones: a major battle won, a
